A time you cut scope to hit a date

Behaviour, Medium

Tell about a real time in the last three years when a project could not finish on time as planned. Use the Situation, Task, Action, Result format. Say how you found out, how you decided what to cut or move, who you told and when, and what shipped and when. About 250-400 words.

Examples

Input A billing export planned for 6 weeks needed 9. You saw the gap in week 3.
Output A strong answer shows how you found the gap early, how you ranked the work by customer value and risk, the options you gave (cut a format, move the date, add people), that you told the product manager the same day, and what shipped when: CSV on time, PDF two weeks later.
Why It has a number on the slip, a ranking method that is not a feeling, early plain communication, and a result with a date.
Input A migration to a new database could not finish before a hard contract date. Three of ten services were left.
Output A strong answer shows the ranking of the three services by risk, the choice of what to move first, telling the customer's contact early, what ran on the old system and for how long, and the date the rest moved.
Why Cutting scope can mean moving work later with a plan, and the quality of what shipped stays whole.
