A time you took ownership when it was not your job
Behaviour, Easy
Tell about a real time in the last three years when you saw a problem that was not your job and you fixed it or drove the fix. Use the Situation, Task, Action, Result format. Say why you acted, what you did yourself, how you told the people affected, and what the result was in numbers if you can. About 250-400 words.
Examples
Input A nightly report job owned by another team fails twice a week. The analysts re-run it by hand, about 3 hours a week.
Output A strong answer names the owner team and why you could not wait, shows the steps you took yourself in order (read the logs, tell the owner, propose and make the fix, write a note for the analysts), and gives a number: failures from two a week to zero, about 24 hours saved over 8 weeks.
Why It is a specific real problem outside the learner's job, with first-person actions, people told, and a measured result.
Input A shared test environment is down most mornings. Three teams lose about an hour each, and no team owns it.
Output A strong answer says why you took it on (nobody owned it, the cost was clear), what you did (found the cause, fixed it, told the three teams, found an owner), and the result (mornings lost down from 5 a week to 0) and what you would change.
Why Ownership means acting with no title, handing the fix back to an owner, and showing the effect with a before and after.
